Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and manage the equipment workshop operations, ensuring all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is handled efficiently.

  • Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in generators, compressors, tower lights, and forklifts.
  • Streamline workshop workflows to reduce equipment downtime and ensure quick turnaround.
  • Implement best practices for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Supervise and guide mechanics and technicians; conduct training as needed.
  • Monitor spare parts usage and control inventory to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Introduce process improvements to increase asset life and optimize maintenance costs.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain workshop documentation and service records.
  • Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to prioritize urgent jobs.

Desired Candidate Profile

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

  • 15 -20 years in maintenance and workshop roles within the equipment rental or OEM (generator/equipment) industry.
  • At least 35 years in a workshop leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel generators, compressors, forklifts, tower lights, and hydraulic systems.
  • Expert in diagnostics and troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Process-oriented with an eye for cost optimization.
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
