Roles & Responsibilities

Job Profile :

  • Develop, review, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) in accordance with ASME SEC IX and AWS standards.
  • Material Inspection: Inspect materials, fittings, components, and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications. Especially with ASME SEC II PART A
  • Production Planning & Coordination: Follow the production plan and organize all required activities, including welding, assembly, and inspection, to ensure timely project execution.
  • Welder Qualification:Prepare, organize, and supervise welder qualification tests in accordance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and ASME SEC IX.

Quality Assurance:

  • Work directly with ASME authorized inspectors AI, to obtain the required approvals for all ASME-certified products throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with ASME SEC VIII DIV 1 and Workshop Quality.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure all welding and fabrication activities meet ASME quality Manual and the required standards and specifications.
  • Experience preparing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), handling Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and coordinating with client inspectors.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, material inspections, welder qualifications, and inspection reports as per Workshop ASME Quality Manual.
  • Prepare technical reports for management and clients as required.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all welding and fabrication operations comply with safety regulations, ASME codes, Workshop ASME Quality manual and other relevant standards. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in welding and fabrication processes. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering, with hands-on experience in piping systems and fabrication of ASME U STAMP pressure vessels.
  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with ASME Section VIII, Sec IX, Sec II and AWS codes.
  • Proficiency in welding processes.
  • Experience with material inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), and welding simulation tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Additional certifications in welding inspection or quality control.
  • Experience with CAD software and welding simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of international welding standards and codes beyond ASME and AWS.
  • Additional certifications in welding inspection or quality control (e.g., AWS CWI, CSWIP, IWE).
