In view of the rapid development that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is experiencing and the influx of regional and global investments into it, and in light of the strength of the legislation and regulatory laws of its various agencies, the emirate began restructuring the judicial system in 2006 by issuing Law No. (23) of 2006 establishing the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which has sought since its establishment to create a judicial system characterized by accuracy and speed in implementing judicial procedures to achieve justice in rulings. According to the aforementioned law, the department consists of three main components: The Judicial Council, Administration of the Judicial Department, Public Prosecution.
