Roles & Responsibilities

Role Overview: The purpose of this role is to manage and oversee the green houses, plantations and landscaping of palaces and villas of a high-profile client the UAE. Supervising a team of 40 ensuring efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Landscape management, this includes:

  • Selecting and planting appropriate plants, trees, and flowers considering the local climate and aesthetic preferences.
  • Implementing sustainable landscaping practices to conserve water and resources.
  • Implement an inhouse nursery to ensure sustainability and cost effectiveness.
  • Supervising the work of gardeners, and other staff involved in maintaining the grounds.
  • Ensuring the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of the outdoor spaces.

Pest control, this includes:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive pest control process.
  • Identifying and monitoring potential pest problems.
  • Implementing safe and effective pest control methods, prioritizing eco-friendly solutions.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of pest control measures and making adjustments as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices for pest control.

Greenhouse cultivation, this includes:

  • Supervising the work of greenhouse staff and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Manage the operation of the greenhouses (for internal consumption), ensuring optimal growing conditions for a variety of crops and plants.
  • Selecting suitable crops and varieties based on climate, space availability, and desired yield.
  • Implementing best practices for greenhouse management, including temperature control, irrigation, fertilization, and pollination.
  • Monitoring plant health and taking corrective actions to address any problems.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of about 40 agriculture workers.
  • Staying up to date with the latest advancements in agricultural technology and sustainable practices.
  • Conducting research and implementing innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of landscape management, pest control, and greenhouse cultivation.
  • Preparing and maintaining budget, records and frequent reports related to all aspects of the role.
  • Collaborating effectively with other staff members, such as security personnel, palaces management and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape management, pest control, and/or greenhouse cultivation.
  • English & Arabic speaker is a must.
  • Experience of working in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to work from various location in the UAE.
  • Adaptable to meet the requirements of high-profile client.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of procurement practices and setting budget including Opex & Capex.
