Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, cleaning, monitoring, and maintaining animal habitats.
- Support trainers and caretakers during animal training sessions and guest interactions.
- Conduct routine health and behavior observations under the supervision of senior staff.
- Prepare animal diets, manage feeding schedules, and ensure proper food storage and hygiene.
- Maintain enclosures and presentation areas to meet safety and welfare standards.
- Participate in guest encounters and educational presentations, promoting awareness of animal welfare and environmental conservation.
- Monitor stock levels of feed, cleaning materials, and equipment, reporting any shortages promptly.
- Follow all operational safety and Life Support System (LSS) procedures to ensure animal and visitor well-being.
Desired Candidate Profile
Certificate or diploma in Animal Care, Zoology, Marine Biology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
Basic understanding of animal behavior, handling, and welfare principles.
Physically fit and comfortable working in cold environments and performing physically demanding tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in public speaking.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and record-keeping.
Knowledge of LSS (Life Support Systems) and general HSE standards preferred.
