Role & responsibilities

Antenna Design & Development:

Architect and optimize antenna elements (e.g., patch, monopole, PIFA, or arrays) across various frequency bands, typically ranging from 100MHz to 60GHz.

Electromagnetic (EM) Simulation: Use high-fidelity computational tools to model antenna performance. This includes analyzing:

Impedance matching and S-parameters (S11) to ensure maximum power transfer.

Radiation patterns, gain, directivity, and efficiency.

Installed performance, evaluating how the antenna behaves when integrated into complex platforms like mobile devices or vehicles.

Antenna Measurement & Validation: Conduct hands-on testing in lab environments to verify that physical prototypes match simulation results. Common tasks include:

Using Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Spectrum Analyzers to measure VSWR and bandwidth.

Performing measurements in anechoic chambers or near-field scanners to characterize radiation patterns and polarization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with mechanical and RF engineers to integrate antennas into product enclosures while managing size constraints and potential interference.

Preferred candidate profile

Education: Typically a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical

Engineering with a focus on Electromagnetics.

Simulation Software: Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST Studio Suite, or Altair FEKO.

Core Knowledge: Strong grasp of Maxwell s equations, antenna theory, and RF system architecture.

Documentation: Preparing detailed technical reports, datasheets, and production drawings using software like SolidWorks or Altium.
