Your impact

The Operations Management and Facility Services (OMFS) group performs Operations and Maintenance (O&M), facilities management, and asset-management services for state and local government and private customers across the People and Places (PPS) Line of Business. The APACME OMFS group is a service centre to the wider Jacobs APACME business, and were looking for an experienced Asset Specialist, with water/waste water expertise to join our growing team.

As an Asset Management Specialist Consultant within OMFS, you won t just be delivering projects you ll be shaping the future of how cities, utilities, and industries operate and thrive.

You ll be the go-to expert working closely with key clients to design and implement asset management strategies that make a real difference. From water and wastewater systems to complex built environments, your work will ensure essential services run smoothly, sustainably, and smartly. You ll collaborate with a passionate team of professionals across APACME, tapping into global best practices while tailoring solutions to local needs.

Your days will be filled with variety - leading condition assessments, analyzing O&M data, crafting long-term maintenance strategies, and helping clients unlock the full potential of their assets. You ll also play a key role in mentoring others, developing training programs, and supporting the growth of our OMFS services across the region.

Heres what youll need

To succeed in this role, you will bring a solid academic background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, complemented by 7+ years of practical experience in water asset management and the development and implementation of maintenance strategies.

Experience working with water or waste water utility infrastructure is essential, along with a strong understanding of the operational challenges and performance requirements of such systems.

In addition to technical proficiency, you will demonstrate strategic thinking, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, working closely with clients. You should be capable of working independently in both client-facing and remote environments, and be committed to continuous improvement and innovation in asset management practices.

The Following Qualifications And Experiences Are Required

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, reliability improvement programs, and asset condition assessments
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platforms, as well as performance benchmarking methodologies
  • The ability to interpret and analyze complex operational data to inform decision-making
  • Experience in training delivery and mentoring
  • A combination of client-facing consultancy and industry experience, particularly in international contexts
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Prior experience in the Middle East region


It would be beneficial to also have

  • Experience with involvement on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) or Design-Build-Operate (DBO) projects


Based out of Abu Dhabi/Dubai - this role will involve on-site working (Client sites and office/s) and travel across the UAE.

Travel to our clients and work overseas on short consultancy assignments and support in drafting proposals from time to time may also be required.
