ASSISTANT CONSULTANT PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGY

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To provide specialised care for pediatric patients on the in-patient and outpatient services.
2. To collaborate in a team approach to ensure the best care for children in the service.
3. To provide consultations under supervision to other divisions with the Department of Pediatrics and to other departments within the hospital as requested.
4. Participates actively in Departmental educational program development.
5. To teach and supervise Interns and Residents in the Department of Pediatrics.
6. To conduct research under the supervision of the Departmental Research Consultant.
7. To assist in the development of subspecialty programming as required.
8. To participate in the Departmental Quality Assurance and Hospital program.
9. To ensure that quality of care provided will meet the standards of JCIA / CBAHI.
10. To assume responsibility in other divisions within the Department as requested.
11. Participates in the on-call schedule of the Department as well as in assigned subspecialty on-call rotations, in accordance with the rules and regulations of Section and the Department.
12. Fulfills his/her obligations related to Patient Records.
13. To perform other duties as directed by the Chairman of the Department.
14. To abide by the rules, policy and procedure of the Department and the Hospital.
15. To be responsible for the patients under his care.
16. Performs other job related duties as directed by the Section Head, the Chairman of Department of Pediatrics or the Executive Director of the Medical Services
