Assistant Garage Supervisor – Heavy Trucks AL NASR TRADING AND CONTRACTING

We are looking for a highly skilled Assistant Garage Supervisor (Heavy Trucks) to lead our workshop team and ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our fleet of heavy vehicles, including Volvo, MAN, Mercedes, and Scania trucks.

The ideal candidate will be an all-rounder with deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electronic issues efficiently. You will be responsible for overseeing workshop operations, supervising mechanics, coordinating breakdown repairs, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations for heavy trucks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using computerized diagnostic tools (Volvo Tech Tool, MAN-cats, Mercedes Xentry, Scania SDP3, etc.).
• Provide technical guidance and support during vehicle breakdowns or field repairs.
• Plan, schedule, and allocate work to mechanics and technicians.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Inspect and test repaired vehicles to ensure safety and performance standards.
• Maintain job cards, service records, and workshop reports accurately.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment efficiently.
• Liaise with suppliers and ensure cost-effective parts procurement.
• Monitor workshop costs, material usage, and labor productivity.
• Train and mentor junior staff to enhance technical and diagnostic skills.
• Enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies in the workshop.
• Coordinate closely with operations to ensure timely vehicle availability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in heavy truck maintenance (Volvo, MAN, Mercedes, Scania).
• Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role in a heavy-duty workshop.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic diagnostic data and service manuals.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in workshop record systems and computer-based maintenance tracking.
• Valid driving license (heavy vehicle license preferred).
