They will be open and willing to learn; they will be expected to engage in professional learning with the mindset that everyone can always improve. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about encouraging students to grow and develop holistically - academically, emotionally, physically and socially.

With a rich, 33 year history, we are one of the oldest schools in Dubai. The English College is an established, independent, and co-educational British curriculum all-through school (EYFS through to Year 13) located centrally off Sheikh Zayed road at the heart of Dubai. From their first steps as Curious Cubs to their proud moments as EC Lions, our students embark on a journey of growth and discovery, guided by dedicated staff who nurture talents, build confidence and inspire ambition. Our purpose is simple but profound: Learn. Thrive. Make a Difference. Education here is not confined to classrooms; it is curiosity, creativity, resilience, and character. We believe wellbeing comes first because when children and teachers are happy and supported, achievement naturally follows.

We are very well-resourced with great facilities. Our state of the art STEAM centre opened in August 2025 and comprises DT labs, a graphics studio, a media suite and a robotics studio. In addition to this, our Secondary Building comprises 2 drama studios, a fitness suite, specialised art and music rooms and science labs. Furthermore, our Primary building benefits from specialist facilities to deliver computing, art, science and STEAM. We have a reputation for academic excellence; we place the success of each and every student at the centre of our mission. Our students are motivated, committed and love learning. Our staff are passionate and outstanding teaching professionals, and we are committed to providing excellent and ongoing CPD opportunities. Our parents are supportive and involved in the learning, attainment and progress of their children.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly qualified, and committed leader with a strong track record of impact. They will be a strategic and visionary leader - someone capable of balancing the day-to-day demands of school life with driving strategic impact would be ideal. As a key member of the Primary and Secondary Leadership Teams, the Assistant Headteacher for MoE Subjects will contribute to whole-school strategic planning, working collaboratively to shape the vision, direction, and development of all MoE subjects. The successful candidate will have a forensic understanding of the DSIB framework and will be responsible for the documentation and preparation for school inspections, ensuring that we improve year on year.

We hire for values and character. It is essential that all successful candidates are aligned to our core purpose, our vision and our values. We are looking for a highly committed team player with the drive, energy and passion to develop this forward-looking school.
