Roles & Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
Food Safety Specialist support assists Factory Quality Assurance Manager in the continuous improvement of the food safety and quality culture in the Factory and supports the whole factory teams in achieving the food safety related targets and objectives.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Promote food safety awareness across the factory and contribute to competence development of food safety competences across the functions.
Coordinates the implementations of the specific requirements of the FSSC 22000 and applies the continuous improvement cycle for the overall Food Safety Management System. Establish and overall management of digital HACCP studies and HACCP-related activities e.g. validation, verification and activities of all product categories and ensure an up-to-date HACCP in compliance to Dubai Municipality Food Code and other Local Regulations.
Supports the Nestl Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defects, including root cause analysis after any food safety improvements
Supports activities to achieve compliance with the Nestl Quality Management System and Nestle Food Safety Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards and ensures benchmarking and sharing of best practices related to the Food Safety stream.
Coordinate the Foreign body prevention and management activities including foreign body investigations and detection/rejection equipment s.
Establish SOP s and working instructions related to Food Safety, Prerequisite Programs and ensure proper cascading to the relevant stakeholders e.g. Allergen management, foreign body checklists, etc.
Support the project management process by ensuring that food safety requirements are included from the early stages of the new product /process development and executed through project stages
Support the implementation of the Food Defense Plan in the factory in coordination with all stakeholders
Deliver training for Basic Food Hygiene Training, HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen Management, Foreign Body Prevention, etc.
Overall management of pathogen monitoring in the factory ensuring compliance to internal requirements and local authority regulation
Conduct Good Manufacturing audits and verifications of the compliance and effective implementation of HACCP, Allergen Management, Foreign body prevention, etc in factory according to the needs of the site and the designed food safety programmers.
Desired Candidate Profile
Academic Experience: University graduate or equivalent (preferred food science related)
Demonstrated competence in their specific field to support business requirements
Business Experience: Experience in successfully implementing food safety and quality assurance programs:
Participating in project teams
Leading part of a change effort
Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects with more
senior staff members
Establishing networks of peers, in markets or factories
