Job Requirement:
The Assistant Reservations Manager is a key part of the property sales team and point of contact for guests. Responsible for maximizing revenue through driving the team in handling of reservation enquiries, requests, changes, and cancellations from guests via phone, email and other booking channels. Additionally, Asst. Reservations Sales Manager responsible for strategic and tactical implementation of Revenue strategy, maximizing hotel room revenue through effective pricing and inventory management.
- Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, email, or other method in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Identify guest reservation needs by asking open-ended questions to obtain all necessary information, including Marriott Bonvoy status.
- Determine the most appropriate room type to meet guest requirements and maximize room rate.
- Verify availability of room type and rate.
- Effectively explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies to callers.
- Accommodate and document special requests when able.
- Describe room accommodations and benefit feature sale amenities to guests.
- Answer questions about property facilities/services and room accommodations.
- Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue including personalizing calls, obtaining complete guest needs, suggesting alternate dates or directing guests to sister properties on sold out days.
- Follow up selling techniques and sales strategies in order to maximize property revenue.
- Provides guests with information about the Bonvoy loyalty program and processes new enrollments.
- Input and access data in reservation systems.
- Verify all reservation information with callers to ensure accuracy.
- Assign confirmation/cancellation numbers and clearly relay this information to callers, giving them the option of emailing and/or faxing these numbers.
- Identify repeat guests using appropriate codes and ensure guest is acknowledged as a repeat.
- Indicate special room reservation types (e.g., complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel agent inspection rates, and wholesale reservations) by inputting the correct code and rate into the reservation system.
- Follow documented escalation procedures when addressing guest concerns
- Effectively manage inventory and pricing strategy in all distribution channels
- Collaborate with the Cluster Revenue Team and Director of Sales & Distribution in the decision-making process of promotion participation and rates
- Closely monitor competitive pricing and understand the impact of relative pricing decisions on property performance
- Monitor the hotel s occupancy and make dynamic changes in the open rates when applicable
- Set selective sell guidelines for groups and coordinate management of group business closely with the sales team
- Pro-actively identify slow periods and notify Director of Sales & Distribution with Cluster Revenue Team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
