Roles & Responsibilities

In this opportunity as Associate Editor, you will:

  • Monitor and identify developments to cover in Thomson Reuters AI powered legal solutions offering.
  • With support and supervision from colleagues draft new content for online publication.
  • Conduct research projects and present results with proper analysis and in a succinct manner.
  • With support and supervision from colleagues, maintain content to ensure that it is up-to-date and reflects current legal and market practice, and is of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and customer needs.
  • Provide support to the Practical Law editorial teams.
  • Attend training events, conferences and talks and otherwise network with customers and potential customers and with industry leaders.
  • Help with the development of Thomson Reuter s legal solutions.
  • Use your legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools.

Desired Candidate Profile

You re a fit for the role of Associate Editor if you have the following required qualifications:

  • At least two years experience as a paralegal in the UAE with a good understanding of UAE law and legal process.
  • Business level written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work to deadlines and able to prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Able to assimilate and apply new complex information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with technology and able to adapt to new technology quickly including within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies.
  • A curious mindset, including about the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a Legal/Publishing environment, using technology to create and disseminate online content.
  • Previous experience of working on Saudi Arabian legal matters.

Education/ Certifications Required:

  • Undergraduate Law Degree
