Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

  • Supports and advises risk owners and risk champions in identifying critical business risks and developing appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

  • Supports business units to identify, establish, maintain, and continuously improve risk management capabilities in line with department strategy.

  • Facilitates enterprise-wide risk assessments by supporting the implementation of Risk Assessment workshops and monitors the prioritization of risks within the organization.

  • Facilitates the identification and assessment of risk treatment options, and supports the development and monitoring of risk treatment plans.

  • Implements and recommends improvements to risk-assessment models or methodologies.

  • Conducts CAPEX and STRATEX Risk assessments, supporting Capital Projects on evaluations for projects valued over $5M, and high-risk evaluations for projects between $500,000 and $5M.

  • Performs quarterly reviews of all risks in Corporate & Projects business units and advises on significant changes impacting risk ratings.

  • Provides input into Quarterly Individual Area Owners Meetings to review area risks and main concerns.

  • Mentors and trains Graduate Trainees and new recruits within the department.

ERM Systems

  • Maintains appropriate internal risk reporting to support the ERM framework.

  • Monitors the progress of risk mitigation plan implementation and prepares reports on their effectiveness.

  • Provides support to update and maintain the GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platform.

  • Provides training to the Risk Champions and Deputy Risk Champions of the various business units.

  • Provides technical support to the Manager in drafting, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing department policies and procedures.

  • Participates in internal and external audits by providing support to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards.

  • Supports the Financial Risk Analyst in the quantitative risk assessment of identified risks using appropriate quantitative, semi-quantitative, and statistical methods.

Desired Candidate Profile

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering from a recognized university.

  • Post-graduate qualifications in management and/or professional qualifications in Projects or Risk Management (e.g., ARM, CRM, PMP) is essential.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 consecutive years in an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) role or a similar function.

Skills:

  • Sound understanding of ERM principles and philosophy.

  • Proficiency in Operational Risk Management, corporate finance, and financial risk management.

  • Working knowledge of risk appetite, tolerance, thresholds, and limits concepts.

  • Strong grasp of risk governance principles and quantitative risk modelling.

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

  • High level of accuracy in calculations and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.

  • Strong customer-focused and team-oriented mindset.

  • High proficiency in MS Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
