BI Team Lead Exquitech

A Business Intelligence (BI) Team Lead specializing in Microsoft services is responsible for leading a team of BI professionals to design, develop, and deliver end-to-end analytics solutions. This role ensures the alignment of data, reporting, and visualization capabilities with strategic business goals. The BI Team Lead plays a central role in defining data strategy, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, and implementing Microsoft -based BI platforms, including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Services.

· Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of BI developers and analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables and continuous skill growth.

· BI Architecture: Oversee the architecture of scalable and maintainable BI solutions using Power BI, Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

· Project Management: Plan and manage BI projects, prioritize requests, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of insights.

· Data Modeling: Design and guide the development of well-structured data models across both data warehouse and Power BI semantic models. Ensure models are optimized for performance, scalability, and usability, enabling self-service analytics and accurate reporting.

· Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business units to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver impactful reports and dashboards.

· Governance and Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for data visualization, version control, naming conventions, and BI governance.

· Performance Optimization: Ensure dashboard and query performance through optimization techniques, incremental refresh, and usage monitoring.

· Security and Access Control: Implement role-level and row-level security.

· Documentation and Training: Maintain documentation for data models and reports; provide training and support to end users and developers.

· Innovation and Improvement: Keep up with the latest developments in Microsoft BI tools and identify opportunities for process and technology enhancements.

Experience

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems, or related field.

· 5+ years of experience in BI development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.

· Strong expertise in Power BI, including Power Query (M), DAX, and custom visuals.

· Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL for enterprise-scale data analytics.

· Proven ability to build and manage large, complex BI solutions.

· Proficiency in data modeling and designing KPIs, scorecards, and self-service analytics.

· Familiarity with CI/CD practices, source control (e.g., GitHub integration with Fabric), and agile methodologies.

· Experience with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for business leaders.
