Roles & Responsibilities

Work Location: Qatar Type of Contract: Direct Hire with Client Contract Duration: Long Term Permanent Industry: Power Plant

Technical Expertise and Systems Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of water- steam cycle chemistry for gas turbine combined cycle power plants and desalination facilities (MSF & RO).

  • Proficient in chemical analysis of boiler water, condensate, cooling water, seawater, distillate water, RO permeate, potable water and Lube oil.

  • Strong experience in dosing and monitoring treatment chemicals in Power and desalination plant

  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as pH meters, conductivity meters, spectrophotometers, titrators, Ion chromatograph, Gas chromatograph, and online analyzers.

Skills:

  • Operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory analytical instruments.

  • Interpretation of chemical analysis data and preparation of technical and performance reports.

  • Troubleshooting water steam cycle chemistry upsets and process deviations in power and desalination systems.

  • Compliance with HSE requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable international standards, including audit experience in ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 management systems.

  • Proficient in SAP systems and computerized reporting/management systems.

  • Coordination with operations, maintenance, and OEM teams to enhance plant performance and reliability.

  • Chemical budgeting, cost control, and monitoring of power and desalination processes (MSF & RO).

  • Supervisory capabilities, including chemical laboratory management and staff training.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering and additional supported training.

  • 10–15 years’ experience in modern gas turbine combined cycle power and desalination (MSF & RO) plant chemical laboratories including at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferably in Gulf countries.
