Roles & Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a technically strong Chief Accountant to support the accounting and reporting function for a large manufacturing company. The role is focused on month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing, financial statements, VAT compliance, audit coordination, and timely management reporting. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, accurate, and experienced in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledgers, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and finalize financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with supporting schedules.
  • Generate accurate and timely management reports, including variance analysis and cost insights.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT, and all statutory reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely submission of audit schedules.
  • Review accounting data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and support schedules for audits and internal reviews.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis when required.
  • Support improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA/ACCA preferred.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in closing cycles and management reporting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Infor LN, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • High level of accuracy, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
