Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Assist chefs in basic food preparation, including cutting, cleaning, marinating, and portioning ingredients.

  2. Support daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow during service.

  3. Supervise and guide junior kitchen helpers and stewards.

  4. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage spaces.

  5. Ensure proper washing, handling, and storage of utensils and kitchen tools.

  6. Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines).

  7. Help in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries of food supplies.

  8. Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) and minimize wastage.

  9. Assist in setting up kitchen stations before service and closing duties after service.

  10. Coordinate with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet service requirements on time.

  11. Report any maintenance or safety issues in the kitchen

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. 1–3 years of experience as a kitchen helper or similar role in a restaurant or hotel.

  2. Basic knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and hygiene standards.

  3. Ability to assist in cutting, cleaning, and preparing ingredients efficiently.

  4. Physically fit and able to stand for long hours in a fast-paced environment.

  5. Willingness to learn and take instructions from chefs and supervisors.

  6. Team player with a positive attitude and good work ethic.

  7. Basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness (HACCP knowledge is a plus).

  8. Ability to handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely.

  9. Flexible with working hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  10. GCC experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
