Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Our Client is a leading manufacturer of machinery in India and is the Product leader in the industry.
To build and strengthen the organisation’s people, leadership, and ways of working so that the business can scale effectively across all three verticals.
This is a business-facing leadership role, focused on improving execution, accountability, and alignment — not limited to HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership
● Work closely with the MD and leadership team to align people priorities with business goals
● Improve coordination across different subsidiary companies.
● Support leaders in solving real business challenges through people and structure
Organisation & Structure
● Define clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures
● Reduce dependency on individuals by building stronger team structures
● Improve clarity in decision-making and ownership
Leadership & Succession
● Identify critical roles and build succession plans
● Develop second-line leaders across all verticals
● Strengthen effectiveness of current leadership team
Manufacturing & Shop-Floor Focus
● Strengthen supervision and leadership on the shop floor
● Improve discipline, accountability, and communication in manufacturing teams
● Support building a productivity-focused environment
Performance & Accountability
● Implement and drive a practical performance management system
● Ensure clear goals, regular reviews, and follow-through
● Build a culture of ownership and timely decision-making
Hiring & Capability Building
● Strengthen hiring processes for critical roles
● Identify capability gaps and address them through hiring or development
● Build structured training and cross-skilling where needed
Culture & Ways of Working
● Improve communication and alignment across levels
● Build a culture of openness, responsibility, and problem-solving
● Ensure that stated values reflect in day-to-day behaviour
HR Systems & Processes (Support Role)
● Strengthen basic HR processes (PMS, policies, reviews) where required
● Ensure systems support the business and do not become overly complex
Team Effectiveness, Motivation & Feedback
● Work with business leaders to ensure teams are energised, focused, and aligned on priorities
● Design simple and practical incentive and recognition structures linked to business outcomes
● Improve reporting and review mechanisms so that progress, issues, and gaps are clearly visible
● Strengthen feedback loops across levels to ensure concerns are surfaced and addressed early
● Support leaders in creating a work environment where teams are motivated to deliver and take ownership
Desired Candidate Profile
● 15–20 years of experience ● Background in manufacturing or engineering-led organisations ● Experience working with sales and service teams ● Exposure to organisations that have scaled (100 → 300+ employees) ● Prior role as HR Head / CHRO / senior HR business partner ● Strong business understanding (not limited to HR) ● Comfortable working across factory, field, and office environments ● Ability to work closely with founders and senior leaders ● Practical, hands-on, and execution-focused ● High ownership and accountability ● Good judgment in people and organisational matters
