Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Seeking a commercially sharp Chartering Manager to drive stainless steel and chemical tanker operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving freight market.

You will take full ownership of the chartering in/out of tonnage and cargoes, negotiate charter party terms, and develop spot business across the region all while keeping a close eye on market movements and freight trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage chartering in/out of stainless steel and chemical tankers on spot and period basis.
  • Conduct Charter Party negotiations, securing favourable terms and minimising risk.
  • Identify, develop, and execute spot cargo opportunities in the region.
  • Track freight market trends, vessel supply/demand dynamics, and BDI fluctuations.
  • Maintain strong market intelligence through active engagement with shipowners, brokers, and traders.
  • Oversee smooth execution of Contracts of Affreightment (COA) in line with agreed terms.
  • Collaborate with operations, legal, and finance teams for seamless post-fixture execution

Desired Candidate Profile

3 4 years minimum experience in a similar chartering role (stainless steel/chemical tankers preferred)

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline
  • Confident negotiator with a solid grasp of charter party terms and risk mitigation
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to establish fair market rates
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deals simultaneously
