Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Culinary Innovation & Product Development
Develop and test recipes using Herman Professional products, showcasing versatility, quality, and application in HoReCa and institutional segments.
Lead test kitchen operations: menu engineering, product trials, sensory evaluations, and benchmarking against competition.
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to align product specifications with culinary standards.
Design recipe portfolios, application guides, and usage manuals for customer presentations and marketing support.
Commercial & Business Support
Support the sales team with customer presentations, tastings, and culinary demonstrations for chefs, distributors, and institutional clients.
Provide technical training to the sales force and HoReCa partners on product applications.
Offer input into pricing, portion control, and cost optimization strategies for food service clients.
Act as a culinary brand ambassador, participating in trade shows, exhibitions, and key customer engagements.
Operations & Asset Management
Manage the test kitchen facility: equipment, inventory, hygiene standards, and safety compliance.
Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, while maintaining safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
Document trials, maintain SOPs for kitchen operations, and align with GPI’s operational excellence framework.
Desired Candidate Profile
Culinary Degree / Hotel Management background; advanced certifications preferred.
12+ years of experience as an Executive Chef / R&D Chef / Application Chef in food manufacturing, QSR, or HoReCa environment.
Strong knowledge of sauces, condiments, oils & fats, bakery, and industrial chocolate applications.
Demonstrated ability to connect culinary expertise with business objectives (menu costing, yield management, customer ROI).
Experience in test kitchen or product development roles with food brands or ingredient companies is highly desirable.
