Position Overview
InterContinental Dubai Festival City is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commis 2 to join its award-winning culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in daily kitchen operations, support senior chefs, and ensure food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities
* Assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating under the guidance of senior chefs
* Ensure all mise-en-place is prepared and stored correctly before each service period
* Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards in assigned work areas
* Follow hotel policies and kitchen SOPs related to safety, food handling, and equipment usage
* Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations
* Attend daily briefings, training sessions, and team meetings to stay updated on menu changes and operational goals
* Report any maintenance, guest feedback, or quality issues promptly to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
* Support special culinary projects, events, and banquets as needed
* Maintain portion control and reduce food waste in line with cost and sustainability goals
Ideal Profile
* Previous experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel or luxury restaurant environment
* Basic knowledge of international cuisines and food preparation techniques
* Strong commitment to maintaining high culinary and hygiene standards
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
