The Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for safeguarding the organization s infrastructure against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with security standards, and proactively identifying vulnerabilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents in a fast-paced, remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor systems, networks, and applications for security threats and vulnerabilities
• Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing
• Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches
• Ensure compliance with security frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate remotely with IT, engineering, and product teams to embed security best practices
• Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats, trends, and mitigation techniques
• Prepare security reports, documentation, and recommendations for stakeholders

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Cyber Security Specialist or similar security-focused role
• Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, and endpoint protection
• Experience with security monitoring tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions
• Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud security best practices
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with incident response and threat hunting
• Relevant certifications (CEH, CISSP, CISM, Security+) are a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical risks to non-technical stakeholders
