Roles & Responsibilities

Demi Chef - Pastry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the pastry section and produce a range of high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods in accordance with established standards, demonstrating technical proficiency and precision
  • Manage daily production schedules, inventory, and workflow whilst maintaining rigorous food safety and hygiene standards across all pastry operations
  • Monitor and control food costs, minimising wastage and optimising resource utilisation
  • Contribute to menu development in collaboration with senior kitchen staff and provide guidance to junior pastry team members
  • Ensure all work meets quality specifications and operational deadlines

Desired Candidate Profile

Formal culinary qualification in Patisserie or Commercial Cookery

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar professional kitchen role
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP-compliant kitchens and food safety standards
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality pastries and baked goods with consistency and attention to detail, whilst managing costs and minimising wastage
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to train and support junior team members
