Position Overview We are seeking an accomplished Deputy Medical Director Surgical to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. This is a senior consultant-level leadership role designed for a highly experienced female surgeon with a strong clinical background and proven Head of Department (HOD) or equivalent leadership experience.
The role combines strategic medical leadership, clinical governance, and operational oversight of surgical services, supporting the Medical Director in driving excellence in patient care, safety, quality outcomes, and physician performance.

Key Responsibilities Clinical & Medical Leadership

• Provide senior clinical leadership across all surgical specialties, ensuring best-in-class patient care and safety standards
• Maintain active consultant-level clinical practice within own surgical specialty
• Support the Medical Director in setting clinical strategy, policies, and performance benchmarks
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory bodies (DHA, MOH, DOH) and international accreditation standards (e.g., JCI)

Surgical Services Oversight

• Oversee the operational performance of surgical departments, including theatres, peri-operative services, and surgical wards
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience
• Monitor surgical KPIs, morbidity & mortality reviews, clinical audits, and risk management processes

People & Department Leadership

• Provide mentorship, supervision, and performance management of surgical consultants and department heads
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development
• Participate in recruitment, credentialing, and retention of high-quality surgical staff

Governance, Quality & Safety

• Ensure adherence to clinical governance frameworks, ethical standards, and evidence-based practices
• Lead or support clinical committees, including surgical governance, infection control, and patient safety
• Address patient complaints and medico-legal matters related to surgical services

Strategic & Executive Support

• Act as a key deputy to the Medical Director, stepping in when required
• Contribute to hospital strategic planning, service expansion, and surgical program development
• Support business growth initiatives, including new surgical services and centers of excellence
