Job Description
  • Establish and scale a new Data Science function, defining tools, frameworks, and best practices from scratch.
  • Build predictive and prescriptive models to support investment decision-making, portfolio optimisation, and risk management.
  • Design and implement data acquisition, cleansing, and enrichment pipelines for internal and external financial datasets.
  • Work closely with investment teams to translate business objectives into analytical and AI/ML solutions.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and engineers.
  • Ensure all models and analytics meet rigorous governance, compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies to drive continuous innovation in the investment analytics space.
The Successful Applicant
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 12 years combined experience, with at least 7 years of experience in Data Science roles, including leadership in building or scaling teams.
  • Proven track record in developing investment analytics, financial modelling, or quantitative research solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages, and familiarity with relevant ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data tools.
  • Strong business acumen in financial services, asset management, or investment strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
