Director of Academic Planning and Assessment

HBKU seeks applications for the position of Director of Academic Planning and Assessment. The applicant will be responsible for providing leadership for institution-wide academic planning, academic program reviews and assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position ensures that academic programs align with the university s strategic goals, meet accreditation standards, and use evidence-based practices to enhance student learning and institutional effectiveness.

• Leading and coordinating university-wide academic planning processes.
• Supporting the development, review, modification, and termination of academic programs.
• Leading the new academic programs submission, review, and approval process.
• Guiding academic units in developing measurable learning outcomes, curriculum maps, assessment methods, rubrics, and improvement plans.
• Ensuring assessment results are systematically analyzed and used to improve curricula, pedagogy, and student success ("closing the loop").
• Managing the process for academic program reviews, accreditation, and institutional ranking.
• Analyzing and reporting on academic performance indicators, including learning outcomes, retention, progression, completion, and post-graduation outcomes.
• Collaborating with Institutional Research and other offices to ensure data integrity and alignment.
• Developing and establishing goals, policies, and procedures for the assessment processes.
• Promoting a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement across the institution.
• Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of assessment management systems.
• Other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor.br>

• Master s Degree in a relevant field; a PhD degree is preferred.
• 8 years of relevant academic full-time experience in academic assessment, planning, or institutional effectiveness at higher education institutions.
• Previous experience in developing Academic Programs and accreditation reports.
• Excellent ability to coordinate and work with colleges and other units under academic affairs.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to comply with firm deadlines; ability to lead and keep others on task.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications, and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.br>
