Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager V, Director, Saudi, will be responsible for supporting the capture of greater than $30B USD of business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This position will be responsible for ensuring consistent responses, communications and relationships are maintained, inform and shape customer requirements, influence key decision makers, and assess the geopolitical environment.

This role will require approximately 25% travel.

Duties And Responsibilities

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the US Embassy to KSA, government entities like Saudi Arabi Military Industries (SAMI) and General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), key industry stakeholders, and customers.
  • Act as the primary contact for high-level business development activities and lead progress review sessions.
  • Oversee all phases of business development activities to ensure business and financial objectives are attained.

Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Identify new strategic business opportunities and expand existing ones.
  • Consult with management to pursue business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance organizational capabilities.
  • Identify markets, licensing opportunities, and assess the feasibility of product development.
  • Assess potential business opportunities through market and economic analysis, competitor monitoring, and customer needs identification.
  • Provide technical, operational, and strategic analysis to support business cases for market entry or expansion.

Industrial Cooperation and Business Relationship Building:

  • Direct and influence the preparation of Letters of Intent (LOIs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and influence offset requirements and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations and government requirements, including GAMI permits and licenses.
  • Secure favorable localization terms and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Support updating Defense Security Policy Marketing Licenses (DSP-5) in coordination with the Regional Vice President, MENA.

Maintain Product & Technical Expertise:

  • Maintain awareness of emerging customer requirements and company capability roadmaps to identify capabilities for export configurations as upgrades.
  • Stay informed about current and future technical and operational trends to recommend future capabilities.
  • Support and, where necessary, execute customer demonstrations.

Marketing & Communication:

  • Develop and provide input to campaigns that lead to winning capture of new business.
  • Develop customer-specific marketing animations based on Concept of Operations (CONOPs) for capture efforts, trade shows, and social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate the development of CONOPs and fleet sizing studies, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Support trade shows, air shows, and other conferences as required.

Operational Planning:

  • Consult with executive management to develop and implement current, annual, and long-term schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives.
  • Direct the development of and adherence to master plan(s), milestones, and schedules for the organization.
