Roles & Responsibilities

About the Opportunity:

The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) invites applications from visionary higher-education leaders for the pivotal role of Director of Student Affairs. Key Responsibilities:

Student Support & Wellbeing: Manage and oversee student support services including counselling, wellness initiatives, academic advising, and disability support to ensure students receive the guidance and assistance needed for their academic and personal development. Address student wellbeing concerns and campus emergencies promptly while promoting accessible services and encouraging students to actively engage with available support resources.

Student Conduct & Policy: Ensure the effective implementation of the student code of conduct by managing disciplinary matters fairly, consistently, and professionally. Promote student awareness of behavioral expectations and maintain up-to-date student affairs policies that support a safe, respectful, and accountable campus environment.

Student Engagement & Leadership: Enhance student involvement in campus life by encouraging participation in clubs, organisations, extracurricular activities, and engagement programmes. Support the development of student leadership capabilities through training opportunities, events, and initiatives that foster collaboration, personal growth, and active participation within the college community.

Industry Liaison & Graduate Placement: Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and industry partners to support student career readiness and employability. Coordinate internships, graduate placement opportunities, networking activities, and industry engagement events that connect students with professional experiences and career development opportunities.

Diversity, Inclusion & Alumni Relations: Promote a diverse and inclusive campus culture by leading initiatives, awareness programmes, and activities that encourage equal participation and belonging among students and staff. Strengthen alumni relations by fostering alumni involvement in mentoring, career guidance, and institutional engagement activities that support student and community development.

Required Education and Experience

Education:

Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counselling, Educational Leadership, or a related field (required)

Experience:

5 10 years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs or a closely related area

Demonstrated success in managing multi-functional teams, budgets, and student programmes

Proven experience in student crisis management, conflict resolution, and emergency response

Track record of building employer partnerships, placement services, and industry engagement initiatives

Commitment to working with diverse student populations and fostering inclusive campus environments

Skills & Competencies:

Leadership: Ability to inspire teams, drive strategic change, and develop campus-wide programmes

Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for engagement with students, faculty, and external stakeholders

Crisis Management: Skilled in mediation, rapid response, and coordinating post-crisis student support

Project Management: Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced higher education environment

Compliance: Familiarity with OAAAQA accreditation standards and higher education regulatory frameworks

Digital Proficiency: Experience with student information systems and digital communication platforms
