About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Documentation Executive to manage export and import documentation processes for our international trade operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience handling end-to-end trade documentation, with strong exposure to sea shipments both containerized and breakbulk. This role requires expertise in trade compliance, logistics coordination, and banking documentation, with exposure to India and African markets being an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and manage export and import documentation for sea shipments with occasional air
freight involvement.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and shipping line
procedures.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and port authorities in India, Africa, and other
international destinations.
• Understand documentation related to trade payment terms such as Letters of Credit (LC) and
Telegraphic Transfer (TT).
• Handle full documentation cycle: commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of
lading, and insurance certificates.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve documentation or clearance issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of shipping incoterms, payment terms, and regional trade
requirements.
• Coordinate closely with sales, procurement, and finance teams to align documentation with
business operations.
• Support audits, compliance checks, and reporting as required.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in export and import documentation within international
trade.
• Strong background in sea shipments.
• Proficient in MS Office, with familiarity in ERP or trade documentation systems, as well as
shipping line websites/systems.
• Experience in shipments involving India and African countries preferred.
• Knowledge of shipping, freight, customs processes, shipping incoterms, and trade payment terms
(LC/TT).
• Prior experience in metal trading, manufacturing or related commodities is a plus but not
mandatory
