To carry out repairs and modifications or new installation of all electrical equipment and components usually fitted/used in a ship repair yard. To Performs Electrical repair and Connection for Panels in the yards.

• Typical tasks performed are the trouble shooting, overhaul and repair of:

• AC/DC motor and generator controls.

• Crane controls, fixed shop machinery and controls.

• Safety Control devices and limit switches adjustment.

• Static converters, VFD Troubleshooting and programming.

• Storage battery and battery control gear.

• Automatic voltage regulators.

• Synchronizing and automatic load sharing.

• Equipment installations, cable installations and cable terminations using drawings & connection diagrams.

• Welding equipment and calibration.

• Should be aware of electrical engineering fundamentals, such as:

• Ohm’s law, AC/DC power equations.

• Motor types and motor speed controls.

• Generator types and generator voltage control.

• Semi-conductor fundamentals.

• Cable types, sizes and ratings; insulation classes.

• Degree of protection against water and foreign materials.

  • Circuit breakers, protection devices and fuses.

  • Electrical equipment for hazardous areas.

  • Power distribution systems; lighting systems.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • To ensure an acceptable ISO standards of Quality, Environmental, OHSMS and Security Management System and American Petroleum Institute (API) Q1 are maintained in accordance with recognized working practices and the Company’s QEHS&S Manual and Policy.
