Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Ambulance Driver assists with prehospital care for the project and supports on-site healthcare departments as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Ambulance Driver is responsible to assist the Paramedic and drive an ambulance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the delivery of age-appropriate, culturally, and ethnically sensitive care.
- Administer first aid treatment and transport patients to the medical facility.
- Maintain confidential medical records of all client contacts.
- Respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, respectful manner.
- Inspect and maintain assigned equipment daily to ensure the safety of the team.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients during all forms of communication.
- Support clinical excellence and compliance with clinical protocols and SOPs.
- Ability to function accurately and efficiently in high-pressure or emergent situations.
- Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively work with persons of diverse age and economic backgrounds in a culturally competent manner.
- Must be able to provide and provide concise directions to clients.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities.
- Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies.
- Restocking clinical and provider areas once supplies are received.
- Crosstrain to work within in the clinics and emergency room.
- On-call rotation schedule participation as needed
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Current experience in direct patient care and must have worked a minimum of 6-months of the last 12-months in career field.
- Have high fluency in both oral and written English.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience on a military/government site, working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
- Remote site experience preferred.
Education Required:
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification and/or international equivalent.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending/stooping, kneeling, twisting.
- Visual acuity. Minimal hearing loss.
- Push/pull/carry minimum 50 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Obtain medical clearance and maintain current immunizations.
- Must be able to relocate to Balad, Iraq.
- A valid passport from country of record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Balad.
