Job Purpose

The Engineer Transmission Real-Time Operation will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the high-voltage transmission network through SCADA/EMS systems from the Transmission Control Center to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the power grid.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control HV/EHV transmission networks (132kV / 220kV / 400kV) using SCADA / Energy Management Systems (EMS).
• Perform real-time operation of transmission substations and generating stations from the Transmission Control Center (TCC).
• Coordinate with power plants, including Independent Power Producers (IPPs), for optimal generation scheduling and load dispatch.
• Operate and monitor Automatic Generation Control (AGC) in different modes to maintain grid stability.
• Analyze alarms, disturbances, and faults in the transmission network and initiate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with field engineers during switching operations, maintenance activities, and outages.
• Participate in commissioning activities for transmission substations and power plants.
• Prepare daily operational reports, system performance reports, and abnormal event reports.
• Ensure compliance with operational safety rules, health standards, and ISO procedure

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in transmission system operations, grid operations, or control center environments.
• Experience working in Transmission Control Center (TCC), Load Dispatch Centre (LDC), or National Control Centre (NCC).
• Hands-on experience in SCADA / EMS systems for transmission network monitoring.
