Roles & Responsibilities

Position: Engineering Specialist (Maritime – Electrical & Electronic Systems)

Department: Projects / Operations
Reports To: Maritime Project Lead / Maritime Head of Operations


Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist (Maritime – Electrical & Electronic Systems) to support naval Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities.

The role is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and lifecycle support of onboard electrical distribution, control systems, navigation, communications, and mission-critical electronic systems to ensure operational readiness and compliance.

The position initially supports project mobilisation and transitions into operational delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of electrical/electronic technical scopes and work packages

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on power distribution systems, switchboards, batteries, and auxiliary electrical equipment

  • Troubleshoot navigation, communication, sensor, and control systems

  • Maintain IPMS, PLC-based systems, propulsion control interfaces, and generator management systems

  • Support dockings, upgrades, defect rectification, and sea trials

  • Maintain configuration control, schematics, and technical documentation

  • Ensure compliance with naval standards, class rules, and OEM requirements

  • Analyse fault logs, alarms, and performance data to improve reliability


Desired Candidate Profile

Experience (Mandatory)

  • Minimum 5+ years in Naval / Maritime MRO electrical or electronic engineering roles

  • Strong hands-on experience with marine electrical distribution and control systems

  • Experience troubleshooting navigation, communication, and electronic systems

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Experience in defence, naval, or high-reliability maritime environments

  • Experience supporting dockings, overhauls, and defect rectification

Maritime MRO experience is mandatory.

Education (Mandatory)

  • Bachelor’s or Postgraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related Engineering field


Preferred Certifications / Knowledge

  • Marine Electrical certification (e.g., ETO CoC, STCW III/6 or equivalent)

  • Experience with IPMS, PLC systems, and marine electronics OEM equipment

  • Knowledge of combat system interfaces and sensor systems

  • Engineering / Quality Management Systems knowledge

  • Project Management exposure

  • Middle East experience preferred
