Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary
Maintaining and repairing of the masonry work within the hotel to ensure a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable environment for guests. conducting preventive maintenance and prioritizing timely completion of tasks. Orderly and timely completion of works orders received by know cross.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Check with duty engineer for the priority job. Check the logbook for follow up jobs.
- Ensure to follow PPE and safety procedures.
- Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas
- If the maintenance takes longer time to complete, immediately communicate with the Supervisor and Duty Engineer.
- Prepares and mixes materials for the work according to specifications, such as mortar, paste, cement and slacking lime.
- Repairs or replaces concrete, terrazzo, quarry tile, wall tile, ceramic floor, and specialty floors.
- Perform various types of rough and finish masonry work, such as laying brick, concrete finishing, insulating furnaces and equipment, and plaster interior and exterior walls, slide gates, runner inserts.
- Installs, repairs, and replaces ceilings, floor & wall tiles.
- Work with power tools as needed, including saws, grinders, drills, and demolition hammers to complete task.
- Demolition of old masonry and the installation of new brick, block or concrete where required.
- Ensure close the maintenance request in communication devise after completing the job.
- Respond promptly to Knowcross service order made from made for requests, assistance, or emergency work orders.
- Always keep premises clean and tidy after completing the job.
- Communicate with Duty engineer/supervisor of daily work progress before ending the shift.
- Ensure log down into the logbook before ending the shift.
- Follow all the Departmental procedures and instructions.
- Follow hotel policy and procedure while entering guest rooms for repairs.
- Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas.
- Understand and practice hotel emergency fire precaution procedures.
- Ensure team work to achieve Engineering departmental goal.
- Maintain and repair all guestrooms and public area in accordance with the P-P-M procedures and standards guideline.
- All the electrical rooms, workshop areas and all equipment s are clean and in good working condition.
- Attending all training arranged by Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager such as safety training, safety Induction, on the job training, toolbox talks, etc.
- Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as power outages, plumbing failures, or HVAC issues, to ensure the safety and comfort of guests.
- Monitor Knowcross application and respond promptly to any escalated requests made for problems, assistance, or emergency work orders.

It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company, guests and associates, unless otherwise stated.
Health & Safety
- Be aware of all existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and Risk assessments and strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others. To continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.
- Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety rules, regulations, and procedures as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.
- The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.
- Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedure.
- Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.
- Attend Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
