Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Assembly & Installation: Fitting together prefabricated steel girders, columns, and beams to construct structural frameworks. Reading Blueprints: Interpreting technical drawings and architectural plans to determine structural placement. Lifting & Rigging: Guiding steel loads, often with cranes, into specific positions. Connecting: Securing components using bolts, wire, or welding techniques. Precision Alignment: Using levels, plumb bobs, and laser sights to ensure structural integrity and accuracy. Safety Adherence: Setting up safety netting, edge rails, and operating elevated platforms (scissor lifts) while adhering to OSHA regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads and work at significant heights, often in varied weather conditions. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with hand/power tools, welding equipment, and, in some cases, crane operation. Education: High school diploma; completion of an apprenticeship or specialized training is often preferred. Safety Certification: Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
