Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The ESG Specialist will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Bank’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework in alignment with regulatory requirements, international standards, and the Bank’s strategic objectives. The role ensures integration of ESG principles into risk management, lending practices, investment decisions, and overall governance structure. Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the development and enhancement of the Bank’s ESG strategy and framework.

  2. Ensure ESG policies and procedures align with regulatory guidelines and global best practices (e.g., central bank requirements, international ESG standards).

  3. Conduct ESG risk assessments for corporate lending and investment portfolios.

  4. Integrate ESG factors into credit risk and enterprise risk management frameworks.

  5. Prepare sustainability and ESG disclosures/reports (e.g., annual reports, regulatory filings).

  6. Monitor ESG KPIs and track progress against sustainability targets.

  7. Support implementation of responsible finance and sustainable lending initiatives.

  8. Liaise with regulators, internal audit, compliance, and external stakeholders on ESG matters.

  9. Provide ESG awareness and training to internal teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 4–8+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, risk, or compliance within the banking or financial services sector.

  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD, SASB, IFRS Sustainability Standards).

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to ESG and sustainable finance.

  • Experience in ESG reporting and data analysis.
