Under close supervision, repair, maintain, test, proof or adjust as needed all fiber optic cables and related equipment in coordination with the variant Teams in the OSP. Ensure maximum quality and peak performance and reliability of all owned and leased fiber optic networks

• Directs internal and/or external resources to implement, manage and repair fiber optic network
• Participate in on-call rotation providing Fiber engineering Support during and after normal work hours.
• Manage vendors/contractors and provide coordination between fields managers, Fiber acquisition team, SOC and Network planning as it pertains to documenting and verifying as-built drawings/documentation
• Coordinate fiber maintenance related activities and organize scheduled and planned maintenance routines in the field and OSP.
• Plan and develop new fiber optics routes, negotiate, as needed, for outside resources for detail route design, material and vendor specifications.
• Handling multiple metro fiber projects at once, Quality check and certification testing of the new optic sections, accurately document measurements and placement,
• Research existing databases, files, and records for purposes of network design, fiber optimization, and relocation of fiber facilities.
• Develop and update logical network diagrams (Visio drawings) and maps of metro and long-haul optical fiber networks
• Maintain database of optical network physical parameters (span distances, loss, fiber provider, provider ID, etc.)
• Control the patrolling and network surveillance tasks and stating daily findings to Fiber operation supervisor.
• Inspecting and testing optical equipment used in telecommunications networks, Measure and record performance characteristics of outside plant with the testing equipment such as OTDR, OLTS, Fusion Splicers, and other related equipment.
• Conduct Underground/Buried/Aerial optic cable layout surveys to determine most cost-effective solutions and path, capturing and submitting data using various types of electronic GIS equipment

• Bachelor degree (Telecommunication Engineering/Information Engineering/Network Engineering/ Electrical Engineering)
• The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in the network engineering, fiber engineering or construction.
• Having a Valid Engineers Union ID Card.
