Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the implementation of strong internal controls. This role involves strategic financial planning, cost control, ERP system development, and leading the budgeting and audit processes to support business growth and operational efficiency


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including journal entries, sales, and procurement transactions, ensuring all supporting documents are complete and accurate.

  • Develop and implement a well-structured SOP for the finance department to improve efficiency and ensure proper segregation of duties.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and maintain proper audit trails and documentation at all times.

  • Develop and maintain an ERP structure that supports current operations and future business needs.

  • Prepare monthly and annual management reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.

  • Develop and review standard cost models for the factory and analyze cost variances in quantities and prices.

  • Review commodity purchase contracts with suppliers and ensure correct accounting treatment upon contract signing and cargo delivery.

  • Monitor production expenses and continuously identify and recommend cost-efficiency improvements.

  • Supervise inventory valuation and monthly reconciliation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and present the final budget to the Board of Directors.

  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts to monitor and plan the company’s liquidity position.

  • Monitor supplier payments, customer receivables, and manage credit limits.

  • Ensure timely processing of utility payments, salaries, and compliance-related dues.

  • Lead communication with external auditors and coordinate the preparation of annual audited financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and local tax regulations.

  • Maintain strong internal controls over procurement, payment processes, inventory, and payroll.

  • Develop tax planning strategies to optimize tax exposure.

  • Implement and manage transfer pricing policies across affiliate companies.

  • Develop and oversee efficient procedures for international funds transfers and payments.

  • Lead hedging activities related to collections and assets exposed to local currency exchange risks.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Good command of English; knowledge of French is an added advantage.

  • 10- 15 years of experience in accounting/finance, including at least 5 years in a management role.

  • Experience must be in a similar industry (filling/bottling or manufacturing).

  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CMA are an advantage.

  • Candidates with previous experience working in Africa or the Middle East are preferred.
