Fire Fighting Site Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities Design, review, and implement fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, smoke control, and fire suppression systems. Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses for buildings, facilities, and industrial operations. Ensure compliance with applicable fire codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, IBC, BS, EN, ISO, local authority requirements). Prepare fire protection engineering calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and reports. Review architectural, mechanical, and electrical designs to verify fire safety and life safety compliance. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) during design and construction phases. Perform site inspections, system testing, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems. Investigate fire incidents and system failures; provide technical recommendations and corrective actions. Support development of emergency response plans, evacuation strategies, and fire safety procedures. Provide technical guidance and training to project teams, facility staff, and clients on fire safety practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire protection technologies, codes, and industry best practices. Prepare and review documentation for permits, approvals, and regulatory submissions.
