Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, and smoke control systems, ensuring compliance with local and national codes.
  • Evaluate and analyze building plans and specifications to ensure optimal fire protection measures are integrated from the outset.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations to determine the appropriate water supply and pressure for fire suppression systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate fire protection features seamlessly into building designs.
  • Stay current with evolving fire safety regulations and technologies to provide the best possible solutions to clients.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for fire protection designs, inspections, and assessments for regulatory submission.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is essential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred, showcasing commitment and expertise in fire safety.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, demonstrating an understanding of industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in fire modeling software and hydraulic calculation tools to ensure accurate designs.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess fire risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, fostering a cooperative work environment.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in fire protection design or consulting within construction or engineering sectors.
