Operational
Assist the Assistant Restaurant manager in training and supervising front of house staff members.
Supervise the floor and ensure that all standards set forth by the company.
Ensure that all checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing duties are completed for each shift.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff.
Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary
Organize and make sure staff is present for pre-shift and department meetings.
Communicate with the staff on pertinent information such as menu changes, equipment issues, reservations and guests special needs.
Ensure that all steps of service, policies and procedures outlined in the company employee manual are followed on a daily basis.
Learn and utilize the current Point of Sales system
Follow proper cash handling protocol.
Communicate with all guests with a clear and kind tone and make every effort to resolve and conflict to ensure the guests highest satisfaction.
Communicate and move throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take actions to ensure food quality and service standards be met. Give guidance when needed.
HR/Training
Ensures that all colleagues are continuously trained.
Communicates regularly with the Owners in regard to colleague development and is continuously developing their team. Regular spots talent and utilises key skills in others.
Is proactive in scouting for talent and finding contacts. Is involved in the interview process and communicates with HR at all times.
Ensures all probationary and appraisals are conducted correctly and in time and all correct paper work submitted.
Supports and promotes a culture of engagement at all times. Respects all colleagues and actively tries to build a team culture.
Health & Safety:
Fully responsible and accountable for ensuring that the outlet, including kitchen, operate in accordance to local health and hygiene legislations.
Marketing/Outlet development:
To have a good knowledge about promotions and packages.
Is an ambassador for the brand at all times.
Communication:
Has excellent written and verbal skills including the ability to write and present reports on the business.
Qualification
Degree or Diploma holder
Experience
Minimum of 1 years experience in a management role with reputable standalone/branded restaurants
