Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Expertly measure, cut, and fit fabric, leather, or other materials to furniture frames, ensuring precise alignment and minimizing waste for a professional finish.
- Skillfully operate industrial sewing machines, utilizing various stitches and techniques to construct upholstery covers and decorative elements with accuracy and speed.
- Accurately assess furniture condition, identifying necessary repairs, and determining the appropriate materials and methods for restoration projects.
- Precisely apply padding, springs, and webbing to furniture frames, creating comfortable and structurally sound seating surfaces that meet industry standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a foundational understanding of basic principles.
- Completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in upholstery, providing hands-on training and industry-specific knowledge.
- Certification in upholstery or a related trade, showcasing a commitment to professional development and industry best practices.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in furniture upholstery, with a proven track record of producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
