Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager – Projects & Maintenance to lead and manage all maintenance and project activities ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems, automation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heavy machinery in a metal processing/manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Projects & Maintenance team for smooth plant operations.

  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.

  • Ensure maximum uptime of plant machinery and electrical systems.

  • Maintain electrical safety standards and ensure statutory compliance.

  • Coordinate with production, projects, and utilities for maintenance planning.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and automation system failures efficiently.

  • Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance records, shutdown planning, and vendor coordination.

  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and modification of electrical systems and equipment.

  • AC/DC Drives

  • PLC Panels

  • Soft Starters

  • Industrial Automation Systems

Desired Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly experienced and result-oriented General Manager – Projects & Maintenance with strong technical expertise and proven leadership in industrial plant maintenance and project execution.

The ideal candidate should possess deep hands-on experience in electrical systems, industrial automation, and heavy manufacturing equipment, particularly within metal processing or rolling mill industries.

Key Attributes:

  • Proven experience of 20–25 years in Projects & Maintenance functions in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment

  • Strong technical expertise in electrical maintenance, automation systems, and plant utilities

  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex industrial machinery and systems

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage large maintenance teams

  • Excellent knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance systems

  • Experience in managing shutdowns, plant reliability, and uptime improvement

  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and statutory compliance

Technical Exposure Must Include:

  • Rolling Mills, Upcaster, Conform/Extrusion Machines, Draw Bench Machines

  • EOT Cranes, Induction Furnaces, DG Sets

  • PLC, SCADA, AC/DC Drives, Soft Starters

  • Power Factor Correction & Harmonic Filter Systems

  • Industrial automation and power distribution systems

Industry Preference:

  • Metal Industry (Copper / Aluminum / Steel Rolling Mills)

  • Heavy Engineering or Process Industry Manufacturing Plants

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and decision-making ability

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong coordination with production, utilities, and project teams

  • Ability to drive performance, discipline, and operational excellence
