Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

A professional who will manage few greenhouses at owner properties who is capable of planting, growing, and maintaining organic plants( fruits and Vegetables) for owner consumption, while also performing other maintenance duties.

Main Duties

Grow selected plant as per owner requirements.

Control environmental factors for optimal plant growth and product.

Source organic materials and appropriate soil.

Ensure water supplies is free from any chemicals.

Ensure greenhouses are free from pests.

Train and guide a team of 6 Greenhouse Workers.

Conduct regular greenhouse maintenance such as:

  1. Lubricate vent components
  2. Fix loose-closing vents
  3. Check vent position switches
  4. Check hinges and catches
  5. Inspect fan components
  6. Ensure clean horizontal air flow (HAF) fans
  7. Ensure clean evaporative cooling pads
  8. Control temperature
  9. Frame and glazing, tightening bolts, sealing joints, and repairing panels to ensure structural strength

Desired Candidate Profile

Education Background

An associate degree in Agriculture, Earth Science, Horticulture, Botany, or similar scientific field.

Experience

At least 2 years of experience in a Greenhouse.

Abilities

Willingness to work outdoor and in high temperature environment.

Confident in using and sourcing greenhouse equipment and materials

Physically strong for heavy duty work and lifting up to 20 kilos.

Ability to train and guide Greenhouse Workers.

Ability to use computer, create catalog and explain to the owner.
