Roles & Responsibilities

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Micropolis Robotics)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced High-Speed Hardware Design Engineer to design, develop, and validate advanced electronic hardware systems. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, reliable hardware solutions from concept through production.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-speed digital and mixed-signal hardware.
  • Create detailed schematics and perform PCB layout for complex, multi-layer boards.
  • Conduct signal and power integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot hardware prototypes to meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Work with PCB fabrication and assembly partners, including conducting DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with software and embedded engineering teams on system integration.
  • Support EMI/EMC testing and certification activities.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including BoMs, design files, and test reports.
  • Provide technical input throughout the hardware product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-speed hardware design.
  • Strong background in high-speed electronics and hardware development.
  • Experience in PCB layout design involving high-speed interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of technologies such as DDR4, PCIe, USB, SPI, I C, UART, and CAN.
  • Hands-on experience in hardware prototyping, testing, and debugging.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer (preferred) or OrCAD Capture.
  • Experience working with PCB vendors and conducting DFM/DFA/DFT evaluations.
  • Working knowledge of BoM management.
  • Experience collaborating with software and embedded teams.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC compliance requirements.
  • Soldering and board rework skills are an advantage.
  • Experience with different platforms (Orin Nano, AGX Orin, AGX Thor) is a plus.
  • Proficient in both schematic design and PCB layout.
