Head of Costing - Manufacturing

1. Cost Accounting & Product Costing

• Lead the development and maintenance of standard costing systems
• Ensure accurate product costing, including raw materials, labor, and overhead allocation
• Manage cost roll-ups, BOM (Bill of Materials) validation, and routing accuracy

2. Manufacturing Cost Control

• Monitor and analyze production costs and variances (material, labor, overhead)
• Identify cost drivers and recommend cost reduction initiatives
• Partner with plant managers to improve operational efficiency

3. Inventory & Valuation

• Oversee inventory valuation in line with IFRS and company policies
• Ensure accurate tracking of WIP (Work in Progress) and finished goods
• Manage inventory provisions and obsolescence analysis

4. Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Deliver detailed cost analysis and margin reporting by product, plant, and region
• Support monthly closing with cost-related insights and variance analysis
• Provide actionable insights to senior management

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with a focus on cost inputs
• Develop cost models and scenarios to support planning and pricing decisions

6. Systems & Process Improvement

• Enhance costing processes, controls, and systems (ERP such as SAP/Oracle)
• Ensure data integrity across production, inventory, and finance systems
• Drive automation and reporting improvements

7. Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS) and internal policies
• Support internal and external audits related to inventory and costing

8. Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing costing team
• Provide technical guidance and training on cost accounting methodologies
