Roles & Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Lead and scale a modern Platform Engineering function
  • Drive cloud strategy across Azure or AWS
  • Improve developer experience, tooling and automation
  • Oversee observability, monitoring and platform reliability
  • Partner with senior technology and business leaders on long term strategy

About you:

  • 10+ years in engineering with leadership experience
  • Strong background across cloud, CI/CD, IaC and container platforms
  • Experience in financial services or similarly complex regulated industries
  • Ability to build culture, scale teams, and influence senior stakeholders

Desired Candidate Profile

We have partnered with a leading organisation in the financial services sector as they embark on a multi-year modernisation programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a high performing Platform Engineering function, taking ownership of cloud strategy, developer experience, observability, and the overall stability of the technology ecosystem.

This role requires proven experience leading engineering teams in complex, regulated environments, with a strong focus on automation, infrastructure as code, platform reliability and cloud governance. The incoming leader will shape long term standards, elevate engineering practices, and work closely with Product, Security, and Architecture teams to design a scalable platform that can support their future growth.
