Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary The Head of SSSD will lead and oversee the school's Student Support Department, ensuring high-quality provision for students with additional learning needs. The role includes strategic leadership, compliance, staff management, programme development, and collaboration with parents, teachers to support student success and inclusion. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Special Student Support Department. Oversee identification, assessment, and support plans for students with additional learning needs. Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education and relevant regulatory requirements. Supervise and support SSSD teachers, specialists, and support staff. Monitor student progress and the effectiveness of intervention programmes. Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and parents to promote inclusive education practices. Manage departmental budgets, resources, and reporting requirements. Provide professional development and guidance to staff on inclusive education practices. Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in special education/inclusive education, including leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusion, intervention strategies, and student support programmes.
  • Experience in an international or British curriculum school is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
