Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the department will provide the set of technical drawings to scope, size and execute a project at Electra.
  • In charge of the daily, weekly planning of the department liaising with Project Management and overall pipeline planning in order to meet project execution obligations
  • Ensure all deliverables from the TED Office are up to standard in terms of:
  • Clarity of information displayed
  • Cover all scope of the project ( Steel, carpentry, finishes, graphics, electrical, tent, furnitures, .)

Lead the Engineering studies required on a project:

  • Assist / advise and prepare relevant information on a project if specific technical studies are required but not limited to :
  • Topographic, ground survey, structural, stability, HVAC, electrical load, lighting,
  • Preparation of drawing package for authority approvals

Develop a strategic road map to achieve department excellence, which will include:

  • Department tools, software and process
  • Develop the cooperations and the professional awareness of the department among other key actors of a project with :
  • o Project Management
  • o Fabrications Divisions
  • o Rental Divisions
  • o Estimations
  • o Procurement
  • o Outside support (Engineering firms, Technical Compliance, )
  • Department staffing and team evolution

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the Technical and Engineering Design Office team:
    • - responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and management of their daily activity and requirements.
    • - Responsible to set goal and guidance for each member of the team for their growth in the company
    • - Responsible to grow a network of free lancers
  • Develop and update the Technical Library for:
    • - Department standard stock Items
    • - Department standard fabrication or methods
    • - Supporting Estimating team
    • - Ensure that Technical package is in line with fabrication methods.
  • Assist other Electra Branches to develop their drawing methods and assist them to develop set of drawings when requested
  • Ensure he or his team perform site duties or assist Project Management on site when requested.

  • Capacity to gain the respect of the team managed and the internal clients
  • Capacity to manage the daily activity of the department
  • Quality of the deliverables.

General Obligations towards Health, Safety and Environment

  • You will correctly use machinery, appliances, tools, transport, and all equipment issued by the company.
  • You will correctly use personal protective equipment supplied by the company.
  • You will not remove any safety devices for any machinery or installations.
  • You will perform all tasks set forth by safety and environmental regulations and thus cooperate with Electra to ensure a working environment and condition that do not pose any risks in terms of health, safety and environment to others.
